This is a field trip to the private property of Janet Smith for spring migrants, early nesters and waterfowl.  Two adjacent easements make up 187 acres that include two large ponds, mature woodland, and open fields all within 0.5 mile of Lake Ontario.

New! Braddock Bay East Spit Field Trip, a Field Trip for Young Birders – Registration Opens August 13, 2022 at 7:30pm

This trip is open to young birders ages 8 to18 accompanied by a parent. The East Spit of Braddock Bay is a well-known spot for migrating shorebirds in late summer.  Herons, eagles, Osprey and early warbler migrants are also possible.

Hamlin Beach State Park Field Trip – Registration Opens March 12, 2022

We will gather at Braddock Bay Park and drive to Hamlin Beach State Park where we will look for waterfowl. Driving back east, we will look through fields for migrant waterfowl and lingering winter field birds. We will stop at Owl Woods in search of migrating owls.
