  • Afternoon Owl Trek Field Trip

    Charlotte / Ontario Beach Park Charlotte Park, 4800 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY, United States

    By the day after Thanksgiving, wintering owls may have returned to the area while our resident owls remain close to their home turf. We’ll be looking for Eastern Screech-, Great Horned, Snowy and Short-eared Owl primarily in this trip that may involve driving between counties to get to where the owls are!

  • Hamlin Beach State Park Field Trip

    Hamlin Beach State Park 1 Camp Hill Road, Hamlin, NY, United States

    Starting at Hamlin Beach State Park we will be looking for migrating waterfowl. We will move to Braddock Bay Hawk Watch in hopes of spotting Rough-legged and Red-shouldered Hawk and eagles.

    We will gather at Braddock Bay Park and drive to Hamlin Beach State Park where we will be looking for migrating waterfowl as we work our way back east.

    We’ll look for migrant ducks and various passerines in this “get to know Iroquois in autumn” trip. This trip is a combination of driving and walking and includes a boardwalk, forest trail, and dirt road. Not wheelchair accessible in the forest trail.
