Our new website is finally here! We hope you’ll take a cruise around and share with your friends. The new site is colorful, easy to navigate, and has lots of photos, birding tools (check out the birding hotspots map, NEXRAD, and weather widget!), and all our events and meetings. That makes it easier than ever to stay up to date with RBA meetings, field trips, and special events. We also have a Member’s Only area where you can find an archive of the Little Gull and access the entire Birding Hotspots map. And a blog where we will post occasional news and announcements.
Members can now RENEW online…and new people can JOIN or DONATE anytime. And those itching to get involved in supporting birds and birders in Rochester can find a list of current volunteer opportunities.
This website is one more way RBA is adopting more digital tools to help communicate with members. Have you seen our Facebook page yet? If not, head over there when you’re done: http://www.facebook.com/rbabirds.
Many thanks to the volunteer committee who worked the past year developing this site. They include Shelley Patterson, Jeanne Verhulst, Lynn Bergmeyer, David Allen, John Boettcher, Liz Goodfellow, and Laura Kammermeier. This team worked under the direction of the entire board, and we thank them for their guidance and input. Shelley, Liz, and Laura will be providing ongoing website support, and as always, the membership and finance committees chaired by John Boettcher and Cynthia Whited work behind the scenes to keep your membership in order!
As this is a new website with new features, we expect to encounter a few bumps in the road as users use the new membership sign up and renewal process. If this happens to you, please don’t get discouraged, please Report your feedback here (this form can be found on the bottom footer, too) and let us help you.
We’d like to hear about your experience with the site, whether positive or negative, and will work hard to make sure you find it valuable and informative.
Thanks for stopping by. Now check out the rest!
