In mature forest and scrubby areas we’ll look for overwintering resident birds, lingering migrants such as Hermit Thrush and special winter visitors such as Evening and Pine Grosbeaks, White-winged and Red Crossbills and Bohemian Waxwings. This is a mostly level walk, partly on dirt road, partly on wooded dirt trail that can be uneven in places.

Wear boots with good traction and dress warmly as we may be outside for 2-3 hours, although you are free to leave at any time. Trip length will depend upon trail and weather conditions. No rest rooms available.

Meet at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot on the south side of Lake Road across from Kanatota Lodge.

Leaders:  Pat Martin 585-301-5485 and Rosemary Reilly 585-748-0802
