SUMMARY:The Big Sit at Silver Lake State Park
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1992\, The Big Sit is an annual\, international birding event similar to a bird-a-thon. The catch is that all observations must be made from within a circle no more than 17 feet in diameter. Our count circle will overlook the southern end of Silver Lake located in Wyoming County. You can stay for as long as you like to help with the count or to learn more about the birds of Silver Lake. Bring a picnic lunch if staying for the lunch hour. At the very least\, you will have Matt Nusstein’s undivided attention!\n\nThis will be a great opportunity to beef up your eBird list for Wyoming County! Comfort station and a shelter are available.\n\nThe Sit begins at 8:00 a.m. and runs for 8 hours.  Meet at the Silver Lake State Park Boat Launch\, 4229 W Lake Rd\, Silver Springs\, NY 14550.\n\nQuestions? Contact leader:  Matt Nusstein 716-446-3376\, Matthew.Nusstein@parks.ny.gov
